Heaven and Hell

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like."
The Lord led the holy man to two doors.
He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in.
In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished.
They were holding spoons with very long handles, that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful.
But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.
The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.
The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one.
There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water.
The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, "I don't understand."

It is simple," said the Lord. "It requires but one skill.
You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

I wanted to make an image of what Genesis Day 2 might have looked like. I am always shooting sky and cloud photographs outside, and I have quite a few of them from over the years. I used one of mine to "paint" this graphic art. This is before the horizon was made by God on Day 2....what do you think?

Glory to God in the Highest

This graphic was really fun to make in Paint Shop 8. I used the image filled text, and then painted the background with the original cloud image. A little drop shadow twice and it looks like it pops out. When I create, it keeps my mind on God and Christ, and helps me to stay focused on giving God the Glory for everything.

God's Guidance

When I meditated on the word Guidance, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word. I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky. When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other. My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.

When I saw "G: I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i". "God, "u" and "i" dance." God, you, and I dance. As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life. Once again, I became willing to let God lead

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings and mercies be upon you on this day and everyday. May you abide in God as God abides in you. Dance together with God, trusting God to lead and to guide you through each season of your life.

I feel certain David spent quiet time with God, a time when he was one on one with God. I am not telling you when your quiet time needs to be, but I am telling you, it needs to be! The time you spend with God will lead you to the place where God wants you to be, (with Him) What will begin to happen in the relationship between you and God, is that you will constantly be talking with him.

Calvary

This picture of Calvary just sort of happened in Paint Shop Pro. I was trying to learn new techniques and playing with a sunset picture and it all came together so quickly.

I am always reminded of a story my friend Debbie told me about Calvary. Jesus is in the middle, on the middle cross. On each side of him are two sinners. One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, "So you're the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you're at it!" The other man hanging there believed Jesus was who He said he was, and said "Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom." And Jesus answered to the man who believed, "I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise."

Looking at Calvary this way reminds us of the world. Jesus in the middle, and half of the people believe He is the Son of God and the other half don't. That is the way it has always been for centuries. Jesus knew not all would believe in Him, but He came so that all who believed would have everlasting life. When we love Christ, we want to live our lives after His teaching in the Bible, to love one another, help others and give God the glory for all His creation.

We believe in God the Father, creator of everything in Heaven and on earth, who loved us so much that He sent His only Son to be Savior for all.

October Ponies

Fall is here, and the colors are just starting to bust out all over. We received an abundant blessing this last week of over a foot of rain in 4 days, after a very long dry spell. Praise the Lord. The the sun came out this afternoon. I was out running around snapping pictures around the farm and then playing with them in Paint Shop Pro 8. Love PSP, have used it for many years now.

These trees behind the ponies are actually way down the hill. The way the photo was taken, it's hard to see that. This is going to be one of our graphic cards. God makes the most beautiful paintings outside, all we have to do is capture them. Every season has it's special beauties.

Fall is the signal that summer is over once again and to get the firewood all stacked and ready. I love the smell of our wood cookstove and everyones chimneys up and down the country out here. The front yard is covered in orange leaves already.
